Ex-WHU Employee has been speaking on the latest edition of The West Ham Way podcast about all things relating to West Ham United.

Nice easy one to start off with. How much do you think Declan Rice is worth?

One of the main topics that the insider talked about was transfers for the Hammers, and he revealed that Lingard still wants to join the club permanently, and his dip in form could help West Ham sign him.

The 28-year-old is currently on loan at the London Stadium until the end of the season and made an incredible start to life with nine goals in his first ten league games.

However, he has failed to score or provide an assist in his last four, and Ex thinks that this dip might help the Hammers seal Lingard’s signature.

He said: (1:23:27) “So Lingard wants to come to West Ham, he said that he’s happy to join the club. It’s just whether we can match what Man Utd [Manchester United] and what may be other teams might offer for him now.

“Actually, his slight decline in form over recent games might actually help us because if he’d continued on the form that he was, on [at] the start of his time for us, it would have been almost impossible to get him, I would have thought.”

Do you think West Ham will sign Lingard permanently?

TIF Thoughts on Lingard…

Lingard’s contract at Old Trafford was due to expire at the end of the season, but the Red Devils have triggered an option to extend that deal in an attempt to perhaps try to get some money for the England international.

Manchester United were rumoured to be looking for £30m when Lingard was at the peak of his form, but with the quiet end to the season, it would be interesting to see if that has dipped at all.

Clearly, Lingard has found a place where he can express himself, and we hope that the Hammers do sign him permanently this summer.
