The Athletic’s Tottenham Hotspur correspondent, Jack Pitt-Brooke, made an appearance on BBC Radio Manchester on Thursday night to discuss the ongoing Harry Kane saga.

It was reported earlier in the week that Kane has told the Spurs hierarchy he would like to leave the north London club this summer.

Do you think Harry Kane will leave this summer?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Kane has been in scintillating form once again this campaign and sits top of the Premier League goalscoring table alongside Mohamed Salah with one game to go.

However, despite his incredible form shown throughout his time at Spurs, the England captain is yet to lift any silverware and is now in danger of not even playing European football next season with Spurs.

Discussing Kane’s future at the north London club, Pitt-Brooke had the following to say on the matter (30:49):

I think Chelsea is Kane’s least favourite option compared to [Manchester] City and [Manchester] United, because he doesn’t want to damage his legacy with the Tottenham fans.

“I think he would much rather go to City or United for exactly that reason. That said, I think it’s kind of a moot point because I think Daniel Levy would just flat out refuse to sell him to Chelsea. And to be honest, I think Daniel Levy will be extremely reluctant to sell him to City or United.

“I would be very, very surprised if City or United came up with enough money this summer to convince Levy to sell Kane. I think it’s more likely that Kane, despite what you want, does have to stay at Tottenham for another season.”

TIF Thoughts on Kane’s future…

If reports are to be believed, it seems Kane is pretty certain on believing his future is now away from Tottenham. However, because he is such a valuable player it will not be easy for him to get his move.

Kane is currently valued at £108m by Transfermarkt, but the question is whether Daniel Levy values him more due to his incredible time at the north London club which has saw him net 220 goals across all competitions.

It will be interesting to see whether any club comes up with a big enough offer to tempt Spurs but one thing which does seem certain is that it is going to make for an antagonising summer if you are a Tottenham fan.
