Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to recent transfer claims surrounding Paris Saint-Germain forward Mauro Icardi.
According to a report from French outlet L’Equipe, the Argentinian, valued at £49.5m on Transfermarkt, has informed PSG that he wants to leave the club this summer and Spurs are keeping an eye on the situation.
The 28-year-old certainly knows where the goal is, having scored 197 goals in 351 career games, and although his record has slightly cooled off since his days at Internazionale, if he could replicate anything close to that sort of form should he make the move to North London, he could certainly be a valuable asset to whoever the new manager is going to be.
However, when the report was relayed to the fans by @LastWordOnSpurs, there didn’t seem to be much of an appetite for Spurs to make a move. Whether it be doubts over the player or the fact that they seem to be making moves without a permanent manager in charge yet, they were pretty much against the idea:
“Oh please no”
Should Spurs make a move for Icardi?
Yes
No
This seems a bit strange when you consider the club’s failure to sign a decent back-up for Harry Kane over the years, you can’t exactly turn your nose up at opportunities like this if they present themselves.
