Lots of Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been discussing a new update involving Eric Dier that emerged on social media.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano was recently speaking on the Here We Go podcast and he talked about Dier and the Englishman’s links with a move to Jose Mourinho’s Roma.

Romano stated on the podcast that there is ‘nothing’ between Tottenham and Roma and he even branded the claim as ‘fake news’. The journalist said the same about David de Gea’s links with a move to the Stadio Olimpico-based club (via HITC).

Dier has been a regular part of the Spurs side this season, having made 26 Premier League appearances and even in Mourinho’s tenure at the club, the Englishman played multiple times in the league for the Lilywhites (as per Transfermarkt).

Starting with a current Tottenham star. How many PL goals has Harry Kane scored for Spurs?

In the league, Dier has amassed a rating of only 6.66 for Spurs. That is the lowest-ever rating he has picked up in a single Premier League campaign, which shows that he’s not been impressive (as per WhoScored).

But Dier offers the capability of playing in different roles across the pitch and he adds depth to the squad too. So perhaps, it would make sense for Spurs to keep him.
