Former Southampton vice-chairman Les Reed believes Harry Kane and his advisors will systematically analyse their options before deciding to leave Tottenham Hotspur.

The England captain was in electric form for Spurs throughout the season and won the Golden Boot, as well as the Playmaker Award, having scored 23 goals and assisted 14 more in the top-flight.

However, Sky Sports have reported that Kane has asked to leave the club this summer amid potential interest from Manchester United, Manchester City, and Chelsea.

Kane has three years left on his contract and would surely cost a fortune to sign this summer, as he is valued at £108m by Transfermarkt.

Reed has overseen plenty of transfers during his time at Saints, having been with the club between 2010 and 2018.

And he believes that Kane and his agent will not rush into a decision over his future, as he looks to make the best choice possible.

Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, he said: “Harry’s a thinker.

“He will think it all through and it will be pretty systematic in the way he comes to his decision.

“He’s got a very close-knit group of advisors, family as much as agent wise.”

Reed, though, does not believe that Spurs will splurge the money if Kane does go, instead looking to strengthen various areas of the squad.

He added: “And they do take stock very, very well so I don’t think Tottenham will push the boat out in terms of spending all the money they can get on Harry Kane on one striker, I think they’ll try to use it much more as an investment in the squad.”
