Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie believes Yves Bissouma could end up at a club like Tottenham this summer.

Amid a strong season with Brighton, where he is currently averaging an impressive number of tackles per league game (via WhoScored), Bissouma is being linked with a move away from the Amex.

According to The Times, some of the top teams in the country are now after him, with the 24-year-old ready to leave for a new challenge.

And Hendrie believes that challenge could come at Tottenham, though he has warned getting Bissouma out of Brighton will not be cheap.

In an exclusive interview with TIF, the ex-Villa player said:

I don’t think you’d get him for anything less than £40m. I don’t think you’d get him at a cut-price rate; I think you’d have to pay some big money for him.

“To be honest with you, it wouldn’t surprise me if he went to Spurs or one of the top five, top four clubs – playing in Europe – because he’s been outstanding.”

With Tottenham yet to appoint a permanent manager, transfers will probably be on the back burner for now.

Whatever the case, Bissouma seems to be very highly rated in the game, with former Spurs striker Gary Lineker raving about the Malian midfielder only last month, calling him “exceptional”.
