Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been sharing their criticism for Lilywhites midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and his latest performance for the north London club during their recent 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa.
An own goal from Spurs full-back Sergio Reguilon followed by a goal from Villa striker Ollie Watkins secured the win for Dean Smith’s side after Steven Bergwijn managed to put the home team in front in the early stages of the final match of the season at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
During the north London club’s penultimate game of the current Premier League campaign, lots of Spurs fans were not impressed with what they saw from Hojbjerg on the pitch, with many taking to Twitter to share exactly what they were feeling.
So, what did these Spurs fans have to say about Hojbjerg’s performance in the defeat against Villa?
“Hojbjerg runs with his head down. Exactly why he’s bang average”
“Hojbjerg is a dreadful footballer before you all vote him player of the year. Dreadful.”
“højbjerg’s been well off it as well”
“Hojbjerg is so bad”
“Højbjerg is playing a stinker..”
“hojbjerg drives me mad! Absolutely useless”
“All of them were a disgrace tonight. Every single one including Kane and Son. Special mention to Winks, Dele Reguilon and Hojbjerg for being an absolute shambles. Absolutely Shocking!”
Looking at this group of tweets from these Tottenham supporters it appears that they were not happy with what they saw on the pitch from the 25-year-old in their latest match against Villa.
Was Hojbjerg Spurs' worst player against Villa?
Given how Spurs journalist Alasdair Gold only gave the midfield man a match rating of 5/10 in his player ratings for Football.London for his performance against Villa, it’s understandable why these Spurs fans were not singing his praises on Twitter.
Moving forward, Hojbjerg will have to make sure he puts in a solid performance during Spurs’ final league match of the season against Leicester City to get these supporters back on his side before the campaign draws to a close.
