This comes after Spurs news Twitter account @TheSpursExpress shared a post on their page relaying news originally revealed by interim Spurs manager Ryan Mason (via Jonathan Veal) during his latest press conference.
Mason revealed that Bale is a fitness doubt to play against Dean Smith’s side on Wednesday evening.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Tottenham supporters who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this latest update.
So, what did these Spurs fans have to say about this latest news about Bale?
“Nooo Bergwijn its time to shine”
“The one day fans are back”
“And some fans says it’s a no brainer to keep him next season”
“Well Ryan, maybe playing him for 89 minutes when we were 2-0 up wasn’t the best idea after all”
“I’m not watching”
Looking at the replies to this post, it appears that the majority of these Spurs fans are disappointed to hear that Bale could miss the game against Villa in midweek due to fitness concerns.
Should Spurs try and sign Bale permanently this summer?
Given how the 31-year-old has scored four goals throughout Tottenham four previous league games, it’s understandable why these Spurs fans would be keen to see him in action on the pitch. However, with the winger having played over an hour in each of those four previous league games and the fact that he has suffered with fitness issues throughout the season, perhaps it may not be a surprise that he’s now a doubt for the Villa game.
