Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest update from Lilywhites journalist Alasdair Gold regarding a potential new permanent manager at the north London club.

This comes after Spurs news Twitter account @TheSpursExpress shared a post on their page originally published in an article from Gold for Football.London.

Premier League 19/20

Gold revealed that Belgium manager Roberto Martinez “has his admirers at Tottenham for his style of play, although his last club job – at Everton – was not a success.”

This post from The Spurs Express then gathered a lot of replies from Spurs fans who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest update.

So, what did these Spurs fans have to say in response to Gold’s latest news about Martinez?

“No please no”

If he’s appointed that’s me done as a spurs fan #enicout #levyout

“Oh no”

“This would be awful”

“I will cut ties with the club if this happens.”

“No. Just no.”

Looking at the replies to this post, it’s clear to see that these Spurs fans would not be happy to see Martinez take charge at the north London club anytime soon.

Given how Everton sacked Martinez back in 2016 when he managed to get them into 12th place in the Premier League table by the time of his sacking, it’s easy to see why these Tottenham fans don’t think Martinez would be a good fit at the club.

Would you like to see Spurs hire Martinez?

In our view, Spurs need to try and get someone in who has previous experience of managing in the Premier League but can also bring success to the club and push the team towards the top of the league.
