Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been reacting on Twitter after a report claimed the club have stepped up their pursuit of Scott Parker.

The search for Jose Mourinho’s successor at Spurs has already seen big names distance themselves from the job, with Julian Nagelsmann, Brendan Rodgers and Erik ten Hag out of the running.

That’s left the door open to other candidates, and a somewhat surprising candidate has reportedly jumped to the front of the queue.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is a huge admirer of the current Fulham manager and has put out the feelers for the 40-year-old.

The retired midfielder enjoyed two seasons with the north London outfit during his playing days, however, it appears as though the club’s fans would prefer a more experienced man at the helm.

“Pochettino to Mourinho to Fulhams relegated manager, someone tell me this club isn’t going backwards.”

@grahamroon

“Rather give Mason a season than risk Parker tbh.”

@Dareen60101124

“Disaster if true”

@supiebrian

“No thanks”

@gbn9000

“Getting desperate now”

@paulsteedman

“The football club is finished”

@Co8KieKrusher

“I don’t believe this is true for a moment but, if he did get the job, he’d be a disaster”

@Gareth_Davies09

Parker guided Fulham back to the Premier League at the first time of asking last season, but an instant return to the Championship is looking inevitable, and the Tottenham fans’ concerns are therefore understandable.
