Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react as footage of Steven Bergwijn emerges on Twitter

|

Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to some footage of Steven Bergwijn that has been put out by the club on social media.

The Dutchman, valued at £22.5m on Transfermarkt, hasn’t had the greatest season, failing to score in any of the 33 games that he has played across all competitions this season, with his last goal for the club coming during the first of ‘Project Restart’ against Manchester United in June 2020.

But that drought clearly hasn’t done much to damage his confidence, as this clip put out by the Tottenham Twitter account shows him scoring two very impressive goals as well as some neat footwork to set up another goal for Lucas Moura.

It certainly left a number of fans impressed, as they couldn’t get enough of the footage and hoped to see him getting more action than he has in recent weeks, having only played 131 league minutes since the start of February:

“His time will come”

“He’ll be back”
“I really want him to score and shut everyone up they ain’t ready for him next season”
“100% scoring against Leeds”
“The boy has certainly got something special but isn’t replicating that on match day”
“Start him against Leeds”
“I honestly didn’t think he could physically score a goal. This is encouraging!!!”

Do you think Bergwijn is good enough to play for Spurs?

If he keeps on playing like this in training then you never know, he might just be able to force his way into the team for the final few games of the season.
