Alasdair Gold has been speaking on the latest edition of his YouTube show about all things relating to Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs have had quite a few odd players over the years, but can you remember them? Here is the first one, who is this former Tottenham man?

One of the topics that he spent some time on was Jose Mourinho and his new job at Roma.

Spurs sacked Mourinho last month, and the Serie A side acted quickly and have bought him in.

However, Gold does think that the former Tottenham manager will be looking to take the likes of Eric Dier, Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura with him to Italy.

He said: “Does it open a door with Mourinho going to Roma of potentially coming in for some Tottenham players.

“I mean Eric Dier, it depends what the deal would be and whether Eric Dier decides ‘I want a new experience’.

“He’s a guy that is not tied to England, obviously, [he spent] his formative years in Portugal, so he’s not [going to] be scared of a new challenge.

“Personally, I wonder whether he looks at the likes of Lamela and Lucas. Lamela has the Roma connection, and I think if the price was right, I think Spurs would probably go for it as well.”

“I think he likes Lucas a lot, and as I’ve said before, I think if Spurs could get good money for Lucas, I think that would fund some other moves.

“I do wonder whether he’s one of those forwards that they can get some money for, which would help finance other areas, namely, a new centre-back. So, yeah, we will keep an eye on that.”

Do you think Mourinho will sign any of these three players?

Yes, I can see him signing at least one

TIF Thoughts on this trio joining Mourinho…

Dier, Lucas, and Lamela were all praised by Mourinho while he was the Tottenham manager, so he clearly likes the trio.

Lamela’s contract is also close to expiring. He played for Roma earlier in his career, so perhaps a move back to the Italian capital with Mourinho could be what Lamela needs.

Dier played in 57 of Mourinho’s 86 games as Spurs boss, and if Tottenham did want a new centre-back this summer, then moving on Dier would make sense.

Lucas has hit some form in recent games, scoring two goals and providing three assists in his last ten league matches; however, Tottenham have plenty of players who can play in his position, so again, we could see him moving on as well.
