Spurs have had quite a few odd players over the years, but can you remember them? Here is the first one, who is this former Tottenham man?

One of the topics that the Football.London reporter spent loads of time on was the next Tottenham Hotspur manager.

One name who has been linked is former Chelsea boss and current Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte.

However, Gold has been told by people at Spurs that Conte is not in the running for the role.

He said: (28:48) “Antonio Conte, I’ve seen today, not a candidate for the Tottenham Hotspur job, as far as I’m aware.

“He’s also one of the most incredibly well-paid managers in world football. The last thing Spurs really want right now is to pay one of the most expensive coaches in the world.

“Neither Sarri [nor] Conte fit the profile; they’re looking for someone that plays really progressive attacking, possession-based football, cutting edge techniques, all of this sort of stuff.”

Would you like to see Conte at Tottenham?

TIF Thoughts on Conte…

Conte has just won the Serie A title with Inter, and he did win the Premier League with Chelsea, so he has a proven track record of winning titles.

However, he does have a reputation for falling out with those above him. As well as this, his style of football is different to how Tottenham apparently want to play going forward.

So, you can see why Spurs aren’t really looking to appoint the Italian, but one thing that cannot be denied is that he has had success pretty much everywhere he has been and given how long it has been since Spurs won a trophy, you would think he could be the man to end that drought.

However, if what Gold says is true, then we can’t see Conte taking over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
