TalkSport pundit Trevor Sinclair has given his views on the future of Ralph Hasenhüttl at Southampton following the club’s performances this season.

Having made some decent progress last season based on their 2018/19 return, even going so far as reaching the top of the table earlier this campaign, a run of poor results has seen the club slide down the Premier League table and putting the Austrian boss under some pressure.

And speaking on the TalkSport Gameday podcast (41:45), Sinclair felt that his time at the club could be about to come to an end this season, as he hasn’t been impressed with what he has been able to get out of the players that he has at his disposal:

“I’m not sure Ralph will be the manager there. I think he’s done okay; you look at the position in the league, they’re going to stay up. But you can’t think of too many positives, they’ve got a good squad of players, and to be in and around 17th, 16th, 15th, it’s not good enough for me.”

TIF Thoughts on Trevor Sinclair’s comments about Ralph Hasenhüttl’s future at the club…

It will be interesting to see whether or not, if he does leave, if he does so based on what they think of him and his performances, or if the club have the decision forced upon them with his name being floated around as a potential replacement for Jose Mourinho at Tottenham Hotspur, but it is something that the club need to address.

When you consider the reputation that he came to English football with following his work with RB Leipzig, for them to be where they are right now probably isn’t what the club envisioned when they signed him.

Do you agree that Ralph Hasenhuttl is an 'elite manager'?

Do they stick with him and hope that he can sort them out again, or do they bring in someone who might be able to finish off the job that the Austrian started but didn’t get round to finishing?
