Lots of Newcastle United fans have been fuming at Alan Brazil after the pundit’s latest comments emerged.

TalkSport recently posted a tweet that showed Brazil talking about Newcastle fans booing Steve Bruce, even though a win on the last day of the campaign will make sure that the Magpies will finish with as many points as they did with Rafael Benitez at the helm in 2018/19.

Brazil questioned why Bruce has been given stick by the Newcastle fans, but Jamie O’Hara stated the reason for it, claiming that the club’s fans want more from the club and they want their team to be closer to a side like West Ham.

Will Bruce leave the club in the summer?

This tweet from TalkSport drew the attention of many Newcastle fans, who were fuming at Brazil’s views.

What did Newcastle fans make of Alan Brazil’s comments?

“You just don’t get it. Under Rafa we had direction, style and identity. There’s been absolutely no progress under SB, it’s all about survival.

“Give Rafa Benitez attacking players like Wilson and ASM and then give Steve Bruce attacking players like Joselu and Atsu and see what the points total would be then!! Honestly it baffles me why pundits think that Bruce and Rafa have done the same job.”

“My thoughts on Steve Bruce….stop dumbing down mediocrity, my bar isn’t set that low…is yours ?

“Because Bruce has had over 100 million spent on attacking players and still has the same points, that is a joke.”

“NUFC do not expect too much, if they did, they wouldn’t have liked Rafa. Instead, they worshipped him despite finishing in top 10 only once. They loved his passion and desire to improve…. unlike Bruce who is satisfied with finishing in top 17.

“I’m convinced these “pundits” don’t watch our games! It’s laughable. Sick of all Bruce’s mates in the media.”

Under Rafa Benitez in the Premier League, Newcastle’s highest points tally was 45 points in the 2018/19 campaign, despite finishing 10th with a point fewer in 2017/18.

They currently stand on a total of 42 points and could pass last season’s total of 44 with victory on Sunday (as per Transfermarkt).

Newcastle's all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Alan Shearer but how many goals did he score for the club?

So while Bruce can yet match Benitez’s best Premier League tally, perhaps Newcastle fans are tired of seeing their club finish in the lower half of the table in every campaign and they want to see more from their team. That, combined with the failed takeover, makes it understandable why the club’s fans are very frustrated.
