Newcastle's all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Alan Shearer but how many goals did he score for the club?

One of the topics that he spent some time on was transfers and potential business for the Toon this summer.

In the last summer transfer window, Newcastle spent just over £35m, bringing in the likes of Jeff Hendrick and Ryan Fraser on free transfers.

Fraser has barely played all season, and Hendrick has struggled to adapt to life on Tyneside, but before they joined the Toon, they were experienced and accomplished Premier League players, and it looks as if Newcastle will be looking at similar players again.

Kennedy said: “The sort of mood music at the minute is saying they’re going to be trying to hoover up the types of Frasers and Hendrickses that they thought they did really well with in the last summer window. So I think they’re probably going to be looking in that kind of market. Look, I think there is value there.

“I think they’ll be looking at those kinds of players. Do I think they can probably squeeze something out of the budget to sign a player? Yeah, I do. I don’t necessarily think they’re going to be signing nobody, and it’ll just be loans and frees. I’d be surprised. I do think they’ll put cash down for a couple of players.”

TIF Thoughts on Newcastle’s summer…

It looks as if it could be a quiet summer on Tyneside once again, with Newcastle mainly looking to sign players on a free.

However, one player they really should be putting money down for is Joe Willock, who arrived at the Toon on loan in January and has scored seven Premier League goals in what has been a fantastic spell.

Arsenal are said to want £20m for Willock, and if the Toon spend any money this summer, then we think it should be on the Gunners midfielder.
