Steve Bruce will still be in charge of Newcastle United next season, that is according to former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie.

Prior to the recent good run the Tyneside club went on, there was a lot of talk about Bruce’s future at St. James’ Park.

Amid that upturn in fortunes, though, the 60-year-old told reporters that he still expects to be Newcastle boss by the time the 2021/22 Premier League campaign kicks off.

Will Bruce be at Newcastle next season?

He will

He will

He won't

He won't

That is in line with what Hendrie has heard from those he knows with connections to Newcastle, with the ex-Villa player now fully expecting Bruce to be in the St. James’ Park dugout next term.

Speaking exclusively to TIF about the Englishman’s future, Hendrie said:

“I’ve heard that he will be at the football club.

I sort of looked at it halfway through and said, you know, possibly, he’s got to step down. But from what I’ve heard, he’s certainly going to be staying at the football club next season.”

While Newcastle have had some very difficult moments this season, finishing slightly above the relegation zone, Bruce’s job does indeed look safe.

In fact, according to The Telegraph, the former Aston Villa boss could even be offered a new contract after keeping the club in the Premier League.
