A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to a post from NUFC 360, which has relayed news from The Times regarding Fabian Schar and Dwight Gayle.
They claim that Gayle has been given a new three-year deal, and Schar has had his contract extension triggered.
This has drawn the attention of these Newcastle fans who are fuming.
“I can’t take much more of this like. Giving championship players long contracts what are we thinking.”
“Ashley (& Bruce?) aren’t going anywhere soon sadly”
“Three years for nothing. Great deal Mike… as usual”
Gayle is 31 and has made just four Premier League starts this season but has been handed a new deal.
Schar has had a season disrupted by injury, and he is now suspended for the next three games after he was sent off against Arsenal.
So, you can see why these Newcastle fans are annoyed at this news.

It certainly seems as if the Toon are just trying to keep as many of their current squad as possible ahead of the summer transfer window and next season.
Still, this news has clearly underwhelmed many Toon fans who seem to be resigned to Mike Ashley and Steve Bruce staying.
