Who scored the opening goal in Liverpool's 4-3 win over Leeds United at Anfield in September?

The Red Devils have both David de Gea and Dean Henderson competing for the number-one spot, but it seems like they are being linked with AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, with the Serie A side set to sign Mike Maignan.

It appears Milan’s prospective deal for the Lille goalkeeper has sprung Donnarumma’s agent Mino Raiola into action.

Castles said: “We talked about Raiola being in contact with Manchester United earlier this season and offering Donnarumma to them; something that Manchester United have looked seriously at.

“This is a very interesting situation to watch what Raiola does here now that Milan have basically said, ‘we’ve had enough of you, we don’t want to deal with you. We think we can get a better goalkeeper and certainly make a more economical decision than accept the numbers you’re suggesting to us’.

“Where will he move him? Manchester United is an option.”

McGarry then revealed that the Red Devils are looking for another goalkeeper.

He said: “I’ve been speaking, as you do at this time of year before the transfer summer window opens, with agents, with people in recruitment departments at Premier League clubs.

“They have mentioned to me that United are in the market for a goalkeeper. And I’ve said to them, Well, that seems odd, given they’ve got two number ones effectively in their squad already, but clearly, they expect at least one to be leaving this summer.”

TIF Thoughts on Donnarumma…

If the Red Devils do manage to get rid of De Gea or Henderson, then a move for Donnarumma could be exactly what they need.

The Italian is just 22 but he has made a staggering 251 appearances for AC Milan and also has 25 caps for Italy and is widely considered to be one of the best young goalkeepers in the world.

Milan signing Maignan could open the door for Manchester United to get in there and bring him to Old Trafford; however, we are not convinced that the Red Devils need a new goalkeeper any longer in light of reports that Tom Heaton is set to return.
