Dean Windass has told This is Futbol that Harry Kane would be the final piece of the puzzle for Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Kane recently made his feelings public about wanting to leave Tottenham this summer, although the Red Devils face stiff competition from top four rivals Manchester City and Chelsea.

Do you think this will help Man U get Kane?

Yes, this could help

No, he won't hand in a transfer request, so it doesn't matter

Having become the first player since Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in 1998/99 to top both the goals and assists charts, the 27-year-old is a wanted man, and more importantly, wants to be playing Champions League football next season, something Spurs are unable to offer following their seventh-place finish.

United recently tied down Edinson Cavani, who’s ending the campaign with a flurry of goals, to another year, but Solskjaer hasn’t yet ruled out adding another striker to his ranks.

The Norwegian already has a frightening attack, which includes the likes of Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, Paul Pogba, and the influential Bruno Fernandes.

But with Cavani not getting any younger, and none of those four proven in the number nine role, Windass told This is Futbol that signing Kane, who ended the campaign with 28 goals for Spurs, could bring the Premier League back to Old Trafford:

“I think that’s what Ole will be looking at. Cavani is 34 now, but are United going to pay that sort of money because they need to win something next year, Ole will know that. He’s massively under pressure to win trophies.

“Kane will be the final piece of the jigsaw puzzle that everyone wants, that will be the final bit.”
