Daniel Pinder, the editor-in-chief of Get German Football News, has exclusively told This is Futbol that Jadon Sancho can take Manchester United back to the elite level.

United failed in their attempts to sign the England international 12 months ago, with the Red Devils not willing to meet Borussia Dortmund’s £100m asking-price for the 21-year-old.

However, with United looking to close the gap on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League, they’re expected to reignite their interest in Sancho this summer.

Sancho has continued producing impressive numbers in Germany – scoring 12 times, whilst laying on 18 assists in just 34 outings, although his efforts could still see Dortmund miss out on Champions League football.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund director Michael Zorc revealed a gentleman’s agreement has been put in place which would allow Sancho, who has 46 goals in 133 games in total for Dortmund, to leave the Bundesliga giants this summer, and Pinder believes that the former City youngster could be the man to get United challenging for major honours once again.

Man City fan? We bet you can't get 100% on this Kevin De Bruyne quiz. We'll start you off with an easy one. From which team did Kevin De Bruyne join City?

He told This is Futbol:

“I think signing Sancho, he would go straight into that starting spot. Even at 21, he’s so experienced, and he could help develop Greenwood and play well in a front three alongside him and Rashford.

“Manchester United signing Sancho would be a huge boost on and off the pitch in terms of what he can bring to the squad and the merchandise. There would be no doubt he would get the number seven shirt and signing Sancho would be a dream for any United fan.

“Coupled in with a few defensive signings, Sancho would take Manchester United back to that elite level.”
