Sky Sports journalist Ben Ransom has been sharing his thoughts on the possibility of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane making a move to Manchester City during the upcoming summer transfer window.

This comes after Ransom made an appearance on a recent episode of The Sky Sports Football Podcast where he spoke about a range of topics concerning a variety of clubs in the Premier League.

Nice easy one to start off with, who currently sits top of the table?

On the subject of Kane and his future, which has been the topic of vast speculation in recent weeks, Ransom had this to say about the possibility of the striker joining Pep Guardiola’s side this summer. (16:08)

He said: “I think that Kane to City would make the most sense.

“I think they’ve definitely got the money to spend, Guardiola’s been volunteering this narrative for the last few weeks and months about the fact that they have had to spend money to be where they are and that to me was always prepping us for this big summer of spending.

“It was always that marquee replacement for Sergio Aguero so I think that City would be in pole position.”

Since Kane made his senior debut for Tottenham back in 2011, the 27-year-old, who is currently valued at £108 million, has made 336 appearances for Spurs across all competitions in which he has managed to score 221 goals and provide 47 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Ben Ransom’s comments on a potential Harry Kane transfer…

Given how City will be saying goodbye to Sergio Aguero after the upcoming Champions League final, this suggests that they could be in the market for a striker, such as Kane, to replace the Argentine.

Do you think City will sign Kane this summer?

No

However, with City not having paid more than £70 million on a player, and the fact that Spurs could reportedly look for a fee of £150 million for Kane, this could potentially, in our view, put a spanner in the works in terms of City being able to work out a potential deal with Spurs to sign Kane.
