Liverpool podcaster Grizz Khan has talked about the club’s interest in signing Leicester City star Youri Tielemans.

Khan appeared on the latest episode of the LFC Daytrippers podcast. The panel discussed potential summer moves that Liverpool could make including the situation of Tielemans, whose goal helped Leicester win the FA Cup.

Khan said that Liverpool hold a genuine interest in the Belgian and he’s got everything in him to play for the Anfield-based club.

Tielemans has been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent days, with reports saying that the midfielder was emotional at the end of Leicester’s last game of the season, which could suggest that he might have played his last game for the club.

Khan expressed his joy at these links, saying that the ex-Monaco man is a joy to watch when he’s playing.

He claimed: “I’d like to think that it’s a genuine interest because you look at a player’s profile and then you look at his ability and the way he plays and conducts himself and all of these things. And you think to yourself, he’s got everything about him that says a Liverpool player.

“I think there is a genuine interest. I think he’s 100% on a shortlist of possibly three or four as we do with every position, as we do with every player and I want to be linked with him. I’m very happy that we are linked with him, because of the performances he’s put in for the last couple of seasons at Leicester City, he’s been an absolute joy to watch.”

TIF Thoughts on Tielemans to Liverpool…

According to WhoScored, Tielemans was Leicester’s third-highest-rated player in the 2020/21 campaign and he contributed to ten goals.

That is certainly impressive, considering that the Belgian generally played beside Wilfred Ndidi in a double pivot.

On top of that, Tielemans is set to hold contract talks with Leicester and that may come as a blow for Liverpool as his value might go up. So perhaps, Liverpool should look to sign cheaper alternatives.
