Leicester City journalist Rob Tanner has suggested that the Foxes could be about to make a move for Schalke 04 defender Ozan Kabak this summer.
The Turkish international spent the second half of this past season on loan with Liverpool, trying to help them overcome their crisis when it came to their central defenders and the number of injuries that they picked up over the course of the campaign.
He went on to make 13 appearances for the Reds in all competitions before picking up an injury that led to his season being cut short, and clearly didn’t do enough to convince Liverpool to make his move permanent, as it has been reported that they will not extend the deal.
And speaking on the 5000/1 Podcast, Tanner confirmed that Leicester are set to take a look at Kabak this summer with the view of bringing him to the King Power:
“We understand Kabak, who Liverpool have decided not to sign after his loan spell, he is also being considered by Leicester.”

TIF Thoughts on Rob Tanner’s comments about Ozan Kabak…
This is a good move for Leicester to be thinking about, all things considered. Not only does it help them in the immediate future, ensuring that they have plenty of strength in depth for next season as they get ready to play in the Europa League again, he also allows them to look more long-term as well as a potential replacement for 33-year-old Jonny Evans as he starts to get on in his career.
Whilst he may have had something of a rocky start to life in the Premier League, if they can ease him through gently and develop him slowly moving forward, then potential is there for him to be an important part of the team further down the road.
Schalke 04 set an asking price of £25m on him during the January transfer window, so for a developmental player, you’d imagine they’d want to bring that price down a bit, but he’s certainly a player that they should be considering.
