Leicester City journalist Rob Tanner has suggested that the Foxes could make a move for Burnley defender James Tarkowski once again this summer.

The England international has been on their radar for some time now, going back as far as the 2019 summer transfer window when they were met with a £40m transfer fee for him, and it would appear as though they could be about to make another run at him.

To kick off this quiz on Leicester City's 2019/20 season, who is the only outfield player to have appeared in all 38 of the Foxes' Premier League games in the 2019/20 campaign?

At least that was the opinion of Tanner as he spoke on the 5000/1 Podcast (25:07), who explained about the previous attempts by Leicester to sign the 28-year-old and how the situation at his current club could allow the Foxes to try and prize him away from Turf Moor:

“James Tarkowski at Burnley is one that they’ve been trying for a couple of windows now. Not been able to get him, he’s going into the last year of his contract at Burnley. There’s some suggestion that Burnley might even try and hold on to and let his contract run down. Tarkowski wants to go and face another challenge. He’s one option.”

TIF Thoughts Rob Tanner’s comments about Leicester City and James Tarkowski

Improving the defence should certainly be one of Brendan Rodgers’ mean priorities this window, as his side did concede the most of any side within the top seven with 50, with Tarkowski’s Burnley only conceding 5 more, impressive for a side that managed to finish 17th.

A defence that Tarkowski played a huge part in, as he finished the season in the top 6 in tackles, interceptions, clearances and blocks (via WhoScored).

So if he can bring some of that defensive solidity from Turf Moor to the King Power, then it might just provide them with that little extra boost that they need to tip them over the edge and turn them into a Champions League team after two years of being the nearly men of the Premier League.
