Leeds United fans have been reacting to the performance of Kiko Casilla during their game with Southampton.

The game itself doesn’t have a lot riding on it, with both teams left with nothing to play for, but if their result against Burnley was anything to go by, you can be certain that Marcelo Bielsa wouldn’t be ready to put his players in ‘on the beach’ mode just yet, so a high level of performance was likely to be expected from the players.

Can you remember where Leeds finished in these league seasons? First up: 2018/19

However one player, at least according to the fans who were watching on at home, that didn’t seem to be putting in that high level of performance was the goalkeeper, who was making his first first-team appearance since January.

He came in for some rather fierce criticism from the supporters online, even though he did make a rather impressive save during the opening 45 minutes as well:

“Kiko Casilla has literally ruined my day.”

“Kiko Casilla kills me man guy just learns nothing”
“Kiko Casilla is funny for the first couple of mistakes but don’t think I can take another 70mins”
“Kiko Casilla running around his box like a headless chicken. The world is healing.”
“Was feeling confident before kick off about game today but when I heard Casilla was starting my mood suddenly changed. Have we got a proper reason as to why this is so!”
“Is it just me or does watching Casilla just makes the game so much less enjoyable”

Do you think Casilla should leave the club?

Yes, he is finished

Yes, he is finished

No, keep him here

No, keep him here

With his place in the starting eleven next season very much in doubt given Illan Meslier’s presence, hopefully he can improve in the second half to at least tempt some other clubs to maybe give him a starting role next season.
