Leeds United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest news concerning Tyler Roberts and his future at the Yorkshire club.

This comes after @leeds_utd_news shared a post on their page relaying news originally published in an article from the Daily Mail.

Leeds' all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Mark Viduka but how many did he score?

The article claims that Leeds have offered a long-term contract to Roberts, whose current deal ends next summer. The article also claims that fellow Premier League side Newcastle United are interested in signing the Welshman, who Leeds reportedly value at £10 million.

This post then quickly grabbed the attention of a lot of Leeds fans who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this latest news.

So, what did these Leeds fans have to say in response to this update about Roberts?

“Let him go with our thanks and best wishes. Served us well but not quite good enough for where we are going.”

@MarkFletch117

“He’s an ok player but doesn’t fit in the team, always looks disinterested. Take the £10m and put it towards the £11m for Harrison, DONE.”

@Aventu02457903

“Sell him and I’ll drive him to St. James’ park”

@LocoTharo

“Would sell. Not good enough to play reg”

@kingybbb

“Off you pop Tyler”

@paulgarner0184

“Taxi for roberts only costs £10M.”

@Lufc19821

Leeds signed Roberts back in the 2018 January transfer window from the West Bromwich Albion U23 side for a fee of £2.57 million.

Since then, the 22-year-old, who is currently valued at £4.5 million, has gone on to make 80 appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s side in which he has managed to score seven goals and provide nine assists in the process (per Transfermarkt).

Looking at the replies to this post, it seems that these Leeds fans would be open to seeing the club sell Roberts this summer for their reported valuation of £10 million for him instead of seeing him sign a new deal at Elland Road.

Do you think Leeds should sell Roberts this summer?

Yes

No

No

In our view, given how Roberts has failed to score a goal for Leeds in the Premier League so far this season, perhaps cashing in on him and using the money to sign a better quality attacker to replace him would be a smart piece of business from the club.
