A lot of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to react to a tweet from journalist Adam Pope following their 2-0 victory against Southampton on Tuesday night.

The three points saw Leeds climb up to eighth spot in the league table on 56 points – albeit having played a game more than Everton and Arsenal.

Should Phillips be called up to the England squad?

However, it does not all seem rosy in the Leeds camp, as Pope pictured Kalvin Phillips limping out of St. Mary’s following their win, during which he was substituted off at half time.

The England international has played a pivotal role in Marcelo Bielsa’s team this season, with 28 appearances to his name having missed a handful of games through various injuries (via Transfermarkt).

Leeds fans flocked to the tweet from Pope and it was apparent there was a level of concern about his fitness for this summer’s European Championships.

What exactly did these Leeds fans have to say?

“Rest him for Sunday now, need him fit for the Euros.”

The 25-year-old was called up to Gareth Southgate’s last England squad for the World Cup qualifiers, in which he started all three games (via Transfermarkt).

Going by the reaction of these Leeds fans, it is clear that there is concern surrounding this potentially damaging his chances of making it to the Euros given their spot in the top half of the table is now sealed.
