Former defender Carlton Palmer believe that Leeds should cash-in on defender Diego Llorente this summer if the price is right.

Despite his £18m fee, Llorente, who only joined from Real Sociedad last summer, has made just 15 appearances in the Premier League.

Is this a sign of how much Radrizzani cares about Leeds?

Groin and hamstring problems allowed the 27-year-old to feature just twice in the league before February, although following his return from injury, Llorente was a regular in Marcelo Bielsa’s team.

He was left out of the squad for the final-day victory over West Brom but the defender, who Noel Whelan labelled as an “incredible player” earlier this year, had started the previous 13 Premier League matches prior to that, playing 90 minutes in all-but two of those.

Leeds' all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Mark Viduka but how many did he score?

In fact, Leeds lost just twice during that 13-game period, with Llorente’s late equaliser against Liverpool last month preventing a fourth defeat in a 1-1 draw at Elland Road – his first Premier League goal.

Asked whether Leeds should sell the Spaniard if a big offer comes in for him, Palmer exclusively told This is Futbol:

“Absolutely. For me, players must play. What happens with the foreigners when they come over – it’s not the same in Italy or Spain.

“In the Premier League there’s no gimme, if you go to West Brom, who are bottom of the league and you have Arsenal, Man City or Liverpool, it’s going to be a tough game.”
