Leeds' all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Mark Viduka but how many did he score?

The Argentinian was heavily linked with a move to Elland Road last summer and even used social media to indicate that he wanted to play for the Whites.

However, nothing came of it, but he was linked again in January, and Orta provided a short update on Leeds’ pursuit of De Paul when asked if the Whites could sign him.

He said: (3:42) “I don’t know, it is really difficult. [He is] a player with a good valuation. We have ambition, but … when Leeds United jump in ambition [that is when the] real problems [start].”

Do you think that Leeds will sign De Paul?

TIF Thoughts on De Paul and ambition…

Judging by what Orta says, it doesn’t sound too likely that De Paul ends up at Elland Road this summer. It is interesting when he talks about ambition as this suggests that the club are ambitious, but they don’t want to live beyond their means.

We think this is sensible, and though it might mean that the Whites miss out on the likes of De Paul, it can only be a good thing for the long-term future of the club.

Of course, De Paul is a wonderful player, and he had a stellar season for Udinese, as he ended the season as their highest-rated player (according to WhoScored), and he also scored nine goals and provided nine assists.

So you can see why Leeds might want him, but we have to say that this deal sounds unlikely to happen.
