A lot of Leeds United fans have flocked to a post from Graham Smyth after he relayed news from Marcelo Bielsa’s press conference ahead of the Whites’ clash against Southampton.
The Argentine confirmed that both Robin Koch and Mateusz Klich had been granted early leave, with both preparing for Euro 2020.
This means that neither will be available for the final two league games of the season, and this news has drawn the attention of these Leeds fans who have had their say.
“Wow what a man”
“Class”
“Proper coach, thinking of his players.”
Do you think this is a wise decision?
Yes, it is sensible
No, they should have stayed
Koch only just returned from injury in March and was eased slowly back into action, and now it looks like Bielsa is giving him the best chance possible of making Germany’s squad for the Euros.
Meanwhile, Klich has played 132 of Bielsa’s 138 games as Leeds manager, so you could also say that he has earned a rest.
This post continued to draw in many Whites fans who had their say.
“interesting he’s chosen them and not others.”
“Not many other coaches would do this nice touch that”
“Klich has needed a holiday for a while. Going straight to euros he’d lose that. This is bielsa understanding and caring for his players at the very best. Longer term klich could come back even better. Great management”
“If that’s not a sign of Bielsa staying I don’t know what is!”
It is interesting that Bielsa has decided to let both players miss the last two games of the season, but we think it is a nice gesture, and we hope both Koch and Klich make their respective squads.
