Leeds United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest injury news concerning the Yorkshire club’s squad ahead of their Premier League showdown against Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road at the weekend.

This comes after Leeds journalist Adam Pope shared a post on his Twitter page relaying news originally shared by Marcelo Bielsa during his latest press conference prior to their match against Spurs.

Leeds' all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Mark Viduka but how many did he score?

In the press conference, Bielsa revealed that Helder Costa will not be available to play again this season due to injury, Liam Cooper is back from his suspension and that the potential inclusion of Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha is “subject to an evaluation carried out on a daily basis.”

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Leeds fans who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest update.

So, what did these Leeds fans have to say in response to Bielsa’s latest comments?

“Can we just end the season now”

@hank_lufc

“Oh no ! Anyways”

@JamessLUFC

“Yeah this game will be terrible”

@maycockjake1

“No Phillips no points”

@MarkWoo53551096

“Announce loss.”

@MagicMeslier

No Philips,no Raphinha, just call the game off #lufc

@Varneyshairline

Bielsa won’t think like this, but the rest of the season is pretty much a write off without Phillips and Raphinha (our best players by a mile). Would like to see Gelhardt at some point instead of Roberts and Harrison #LUFC

@cawood7I

So far this season, Leeds have won 14 out of the 34 league games they’ve played, drawing five and losing 15 along the way (per BBC Sport).

Looking at the replies to this post from Pope, it seems that these Leeds fans are feeling pretty disheartened by this latest injury update, particularly with the possibility of Phillips and Raphinha not being able to play a part in the game against Spurs.

Do you think Leeds could beat Spurs without Phillips and Raphinha?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Given how the duo are currently Leeds’ highest-rated players for their overall performances in the Premier League so far, it’s clear why they don’t think their team would have a good chance of beating Tottenham without them.
