Leeds United Managing Director Angus Kinnear has been speaking on the latest edition of The Athletic’s The Phil Hay Show about everything concerning the Whites.

Leeds' all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Mark Viduka but how many did he score?

One of the topics that he briefly touched on was Rodrigo De Paul.

The Argentinian was heavily linked with a move to Elland Road last summer, and De Paul even used social media to indicate that he wanted to join the Whites.

However, Kinnear dismissed any possibility of the Udinese man joining Leeds this summer.

He said: (58:47) “If it wasn’t for listening to the Square Ball. I don’t think I [would have] heard Rodrigo De Paul’s name ever. Which gives you an insight [into] how far along we are in those discussions. If we had the money, I think we would just buy him just to shut you guys up. But I don’t think that one has any legs.”

Do you think that De Paul will sign for Leeds?

TIF Thoughts on De Paul…

This seems like a pretty certain answer from Kinnear, and it suggests that the Whites will not be signing De Paul this summer.

Of course, he is a wonderful player and has been Udinese’s best player in the league now for the past two seasons, but it is clear that these rumours are just that, and there is very little substance to them.

Now, it would be interesting to see if the Whites pulled a surprise out of the bag, but we feel that after hearing Kinnear’s comments, this is one that can be put to bed.
