Pundit Steve Howey has recently backed Sergio Aguero to move to Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton soon.

Aguero’s contract at Manchester City runs out in the summer and it has been reported that Barcelona are interested in the Argentine, but they will decide about a potential approach soon. Aguero is also believed to be prepared to reduce his salary to play for the Catalans and unite with Lionel Messi.

During his career at the Etihad Stadium, Aguero has managed to play as many as 388 times for the club and he has scored a total of 258 games in all competitions (as per Transfermarkt). Aguero is also Man City’s highest goalscorer in the club’s history.

Howey was recently talking to Transfer Tavern and he gave his views about why Aguero should look for a move to Everton. The pundit believes that Goodison Park could be a good destination for the Argentine.

He said: “He’s a goal machine because you give him a chance and he’ll score. I don’t think he’s past it, but obviously, Pep is looking for something else.

“Somebody like Everton would be good for him. So I think given the right kind of contract and if he wants the move, then a deal can definitely be done.”

TIF Thoughts on Aguero to Everton…

As things stand, Everton already have a striker in Dominic Calvert-Lewin who has impressed in the Premier League, not just this season but even last season (as per Transfermarkt).

It’s a reflection of the fact that Everton don’t really need a regular striker and even Richarlison can play upfront.

And Aguero might demand regular first-team football – something Everton might not be able to give, keeping in mind Calvert-Lewin’s abilities. So a move for Aguero might not make sense for Carlo Ancelotti’s men.
