Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie believes Swansea City boss Steve Cooper would bring a good style of football to Crystal Palace.

The south London club are looking for a new manager following Roy Hodgson’s decision to step down and Cooper is one of the names they are currently being linked with.

According to Sky Sports, the former England U17 head coach, Frank Lampard and Eddie Howe are three candidates for the job as Palace look to swiftly replace the outgoing Hodgson.

And if the Eagles do end up with Cooper, Hendrie thinks an attractive style of play could be coming to Selhurst Park.

On the 41-year-old, the ex-Villa player told TIF in an exclusive interview:

“He’s very well organised. You know, his style of plays is literally football from back to front.

“They’ve [Swansea] been probably one of the more attractive style sides in the Championship, so you can see why he’s been linked with the vacant job that’s going to become available.

“There’s no doubt about it. If he does end up going into the football club, he will have a very attractive style of football.”

If that is the direction Palace want to head in, an emphasis on playing good football and not just picking up results, then Cooper could indeed be their man.
