Dean Windass has told This is Futbol that he’s confident that Sean Dyche will commit his long-term future to Burnley and remain at the club.

Dyche, who’s led the Turf Moor outfit into the Premier League on two occasions before guiding the club into Europe, has been the subject of links to the Crystal Palace job with Football Insider reporting that talks between the two parties already took place at the start 0f 2021, whilst a more optimistic move to Arsenal or Tottenham has been mentioned.

The vacant Palace job would appear the likeliest with Roy Hodgson stepping down at the end of the season, but Burnley finished just a handful of points and places behind the Londoners in the Premier League table, which begs the question as to whether moving to Selhurst Park would be a progressive one for the Clarets boss.

Dyche’s contract at Burnley runs out in 12 months, but reports believe that he’s expected to sit down with the hierarchy at Turf Moor and discuss his future.

He’s enjoyed so much success at Burnley, but Windass has questioned as to whether his philosophy would work at another club. He exclusively told This is Futbol:

“Has he got another style of play if he goes to Crystal Palace? If he’s got the players to play 4-4-2, he’ll stick with that system, it’s been successful for seven or eight years.

“I can’t see Sean leaving, unless he has said ‘I can’t take you any further’, and he will walk away a hero. I don’t think he will leave Burnley, even if he gets sacked, he will always get a job.”
