Football journalist Fabrizio Romano has been sharing the latest details regarding on-loan Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos and his future with the north London club.

This comes after Romano co-hosted a recent episode of the Here We Go Podcast where he spoke about a variety of topics going around the world of European football at the moment.

Nice easy one to start off with, who currently sits top of the table?

On the subject of Ceballos, who is currently on loan at Arsenal from Spanish club Real Madrid, Romano had this to say about the midfielder’s future with the summer transfer window around the corner. (28.50)

He said: “100% he’s coming back to Real Madrid and I think he will be sold or loaned to another club, but he won’t stay at Arsenal because they’re planning for a different kind of midfielder, something different from Ceballos also like experienced and trying to the keep the middle of midfield [with a] different kind of midfielder so, Ceballos will be back at Real Madrid.”

Arsenal originally signed Ceballos on a season-long loan deal from the La Liga club back in July 2019 before securing him on another season-long loan deal during the previous summer window.

Overall, the 24-year-old, who is currently valued at £27 million, has made 76 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions in which he has managed to score two goals and provide five assists in the process for Mikel Arteta’s side (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Fabrizio Romano’s comments on Ceballos…

Given how Ceballos has managed to earn himself a respectable overall season rating of 6.86/10 for his performances in the Premier League so far this season, making him Arsenal’s third-highest rated outfield player, perhaps they should consider trying to keep hold of him beyond his current loan deal.

However, given how the Spaniard got himself sent off during the club’s recent first-leg semi-final clash against Villarreal and ultimately earned himself a shocking match rating of 2/10 from the Evening Standard, perhaps this could have swayed the club into reportedly wanting to look elsewhere for a new midfielder, as Romano said in the podcast.
