Arsenal journalist Charles Watts has been sharing his thoughts on Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma and the possibility of him joining the North London club during the upcoming summer transfer window.

This comes after Watts uploaded a video onto his YouTube channel where he spoke about a range of topics concerning the Gunners, including their recent 2-0 win over Graham Potter’s side on the final day of the 2020/21 Premier League season.

Nice easy one to start off with, who currently sits top of the table?

On the subject of Bissouma, who has been linked with a summer move to The Emirates in recent weeks, Watts had this to say about the midfielder. (11:43)

He said: “I thought Bissouma was absolutely brilliant [against Arsenal] him and [Nicolas] Pepe having a big, big talk after the game.

“Pepe almost looking like he was giving him a VIP tour around The Emirates, he was pointing up explaining where everything was. He took his pictures afterwards, Pepe and Bissouma and the sort of agent that connects them both were all at the game. And he was great I thought Bissouma yesterday for Brighton.

“I’d love to see him at the Emirates I absolutely have to say, I’m not saying he’s going to be there, but he’s certainly one of the players that Arsenal are looking at.”

Brighton signed Bissouma during the 2018 summer transfer window from French club LOSC Lille for a fee of £15 million.

Since then, the 24-year-old, who is currently valued at £15.3 million, has gone on to make 96 appearances for the Seagulls in which he has managed to score four goals and provide one assist in the process (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Charles Watts’ comments on Bissouma…

Given how Bissouma has managed to earn himself a solid overall season rating of 6.98/10 for his performances throughout this latest campaign, making him Brighton’s second-highest rated player, it’s clear to see why Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing him and why Watts would love to see him join the Gunners.

In our view, given how both Thomas Partey (6.75/10) and Granit Xhaka (6.73/10) have managed to rack up lower season ratings than Bissouma in the Premier League this season, perhaps adding the Brighton man to their squad would help strengthen their midfield options in terms of numbers and quality.
