Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, former West Brom midfielder Carlton Palmer believes £10m is too cheap for goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

Johnstone looks set to leave West Brom at the end of the season after the Midlands club’s disastrous Premier League campaign, and the fee he could go for is said to be £10m.

According to the Evening Standard, Tottenham and West Ham are both interested in the 28-year-old’s services, and it will cost £10m to get him out of the Hawthorns this summer.

Do you think West Brom should sell Johnstone this summer if a decent offer came in?

No

In a season where Johnstone has been one of the Baggies’ shining lights, though, Palmer thinks that valuation is simply too low.

On the English shot-stopper, the ex-West Brom player told TIF:

I think it’s too cheap. In today’s market, it’s too cheap. So unless he’s got that written in as a clause that he can leave for £10m, in today’s current market and the fact that he’s banging on the England set-up, I think that’s a bargain at £10m.”

Making the most saves in the Premier League this season, Johnstone has easily been one of the division’s standout goalkeepers.

Bearing that in mind, Tottenham or West Ham really could end up securing a bargain here.
