Sheffield Wednesday journalist Nancy Frostick has been sharing the latest details on Owls manager Darren Moore and his current health situation.

This comes after Frostick made a guest appearance on a recent episode of The Totally Football League Show where she spoke about the biggest talking points concerning the Yorkshire club.

An easy one to kick off our quiz on the 2020 summer transfer window in the EFL, which player left Birmingham City to join Borussia Dortmund?

On the subject of Moore, who has been away from the club in recent weeks due to health reasons, Frostick had this to say on the matter and whether or not he would be well enough to be with his team during their final game of the season against Derby County at the weekend. (15.38)

She said: “It sounds like he’s much better. Obviously, at one point I think he went into hospital and he was feeling pretty rough, but it sounds like he’s on the mend and there’s a strong possibility he’ll be at Derby in some capacity if even if it’s not on the touchline it might be in the stand or in the director’s box.

“I think given the significance of the game that will be such a huge boost to the players one way or the other because he’s kind of been communicating with them via video link at half time or before the game to give them team talks and such. So yeah, it will be a huge boost if he can be there and I think it could be the difference if he’s able to get a key idea across or something at much quicker speed than he might be able to normally when he’s been at home.

“I think the main thing is he’s just been working through it as much as he can, even though he’s been pretty poorly, which is testament to how much he’s desperate to keep Wednesday in the league. The fans seem confident and the mood around the club is very confident that he’s absolutely the right man whatever happens.

“He’s just really, really lifted everyone and so that in itself is a big positive, regardless of the result on Saturday.”

Moore was appointed as Wednesday’s manager back in March after a period without a permanent manager since Tony Pulis was sacked after taking charge of just 10 matches with the club.

Unfortunately, the Owls boss suffered a setback in his recovery from the current global virus last month and has since been away from the club.

TIF Thoughts on Nancy Frostick’s comments on Moore…

With Wednesday set to take on Wayne Rooney’s side in a make-or-break clash at Pride Park on the final day of the season with both clubs in danger of being relegated to League One, Wednesday will certainly need all the help they can get in order to make sure that doesn’t happen.

If Moore is well enough to be with the team in some capacity at the weekend, this would surely give them some sort of boost and given that the Owls have picked up an incredibly mixed bag of league results since the middle of March, they will have to make sure they turn up and put in a solid performance and get the result they need against the Rams.
