Leeds United fans have been reacting to news regarding their clash with Southampton on Tuesday evening.

The clash itself doesn’t really hold that much importance, Marcelo Bielsa’s men would need an absolute miracle if they are to qualify for Europe, whilst Southampton are pretty much ‘on the beach’ at this point having been safe from relegation for some weeks now.

Indeed, perhaps the most important factor surrounding the game will be the return of fans, something Leeds supporters have to wait until Sunday to experience at Elland Road.

That doesn’t mean that there isn’t something for the fans to get upset about though, as it was announced that Peter Bankes would be in charge of the game at St Mary’s, something that didn’t leave many of the fans distraught.

As @El_Loco_Jo pointed out on Twitter, Leeds don’t exactly have the best of records with him in charge, something which @GrahamSmyth pointed out happens quite a lot, which led to plenty of fans not feeling particularly confident of their chances of getting a result:

“Well It’s about time Peter Bankes learned from his plethora of mistakes & turned in a decent refereeing performance. He owes us one”

“Not looking good then”
“So we start a goal down!”
“Cheers Graham everyone’s crying”
“7 wins. 7 losses. 2 draws.- Whilst he’s been refereeing us Draw incoming.”
“Should be a laugh then”

There seems to be a lot of frustration from these Leeds fans which you could understand if the game actually had something riding on it, but that seems a bit misplaced in a dead-rubber match.
