Some Leeds United fans have been reacting to claims surrounding a potential move for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher this summer.
The 21-year-old, valued at £10.8m on Transfermarkt, has been on loan at West Bromwich Albion this season, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in the Premier League, not enough to keep the Baggies in the division as they were relegated at the weekend.
But he has still been an integral part of the setup (via WhoScored) at the Hawthorns, leading the team in tackles whilst being placed in the top six in shots per game, key passes and dribbles.
Leeds have reportedly been interested in him in the past, with the club looking to bring him in on a permanent deal last summer. They’ve also been ‘tracking his progress’ recently, perhaps with an eye on a move this window, although the most recent report does also claim that he intends to fight for his place at Stamford Bridge next season.
Just as well, because when the news that the club wanted him was relayed to fans via @liveleedsunited on Twitter, there didn’t seem to be much enthusiasm about the idea of signing him:
“The games I’ve watched of them, he was one of the worst. Pereira or no one.”
Would you like to see Leeds sign Conor Gallagher?
Yes
No
So these fans don’t seem to want him, and he doesn’t want to leave. It’s sort of a win-win situation.
