Leeds United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest update concerning Whites full-back Ezgjan Alioski and his future at the Yorkshire club.

This comes after Leeds journalist Graham Smyth shared a post on his official Twitter page revealing that Alioski is “still talking” with the club about potentially signing a new deal there, with his current one set to expire at the end of June, and that the defender has sat down this week with Victor Orta about the situation.

Leeds' all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Mark Viduka but how many did he score?

Smyth also added that the rumours of Alioski having a pre-contract agreement elsewhere are not true.

This post then caught the attention of a lot of Leeds fans who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this latest update.

So, what did these Leeds fans have to say in response to Smyth’ latest post about Alioski?

“Love to see it”

“Fantastic news”

“I think he’s been fine to be honest. He gets the set up, his role, and loves the club.”

“Personally hope he stays – and we also strengthen that area. Gives us a good versatile option off the bench”

“Interesting, but can imagine he wants to play a big part and we can’t promise that as we have wingers ahead of him, and we’re after a more natural LB”

“Hope he stays”

Looking at the replies to this post from Smyth, it appears that these Leeds fans are very hopeful that Alioski will not leave the club when his current deal expires and will instead put pen to paper on a new one and continue his journey with the Whites.

Would you say Alioski has had a good season with Leeds?

Given how the defender managed to pitch in with two goals and three assists in the Premier League throughout the season, Alioski has certainly proved that he can provide an attacking threat from the full-back position which would definitely make him a valuable asset for the squad in our view, and justifies why the club are reportedly trying to keep him at with a new deal.
