Leeds United fans have been reacting to claims regarding the future of Gjanni Alioski.
The 29-year-old, valued at £3.6m on Transfermarkt, is coming to the end of his contract at Elland Road, and as such is eligible to start negotiating with clubs abroad over a free transfer in the summer.
Reports a couple of months ago seemed to suggest that the North Macedonian international was on his way to Turkish side Galatasaray, something that did not go down well with Leeds United fans at the time given the history between the two clubs.
But a more recent report from Turkish outlet AsistAnaliz has claimed that the deal will not go through after all, with TEAMtalk adding that one of the reasons it won’t happen is because Alioski “wants to avoid a backlash from Leeds supporters.”
The news was relayed to the fans by journalist James Marshment on Twitter where there were plenty of fans excited to see the news:
“YES GJANNI! I can officially still love you. Want him to stay anyway tbf, has shown this season he can do a job in the PL even if we use him a backup for LM, LW & LB.”
Will you be happy if Alioski leaves this summer?
That certainly is one way to get yourself back in the fans’ good books.
