Leeds United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest news concerning Whites striker Patrick Bamford.

This comes after @leeds_utd_news shared a post relaying news originally published in an article from the Daily Mail.

Leeds' all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Mark Viduka but how many did he score?

The article suggested that Bamford could be a potential candidate to replace Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane if the England captain were to leave the north London club during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Specifically, the article said that Bamford “has a well-rounded game to suit Tottenham’s requirements,” if he were to leave Leeds and join the Lilywhites.

This post then caught the attention of a lot of Leeds fans who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest claim.

So, what did these Leeds fans have to say about Bamford potentially replacing Kane at Spurs?

“Hahahahaha jokers”

@rgnhnds

First they think that they’re getting Bielsa now they think they’re getting Bamford. This lot are in a dream world! #lufc

@SherriffAlex

“Hahahahahahahahaha no chance”

@lewis__lufc

“Go away not happening”

@colinpbrooks

“Surely a joke”

@DavidWa03070329

“More chance of winning stuff with Leeds”

@samwise_09

Looking at the replies to this post, it appears that these Leeds fans aren’t taking the idea of Tottenham potentially replacing Kane with Bamford particularly seriously.

Are you confident Bamford will be a Leeds player next season?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Given how Bamford is Leeds’ current top goalscorer with 15 goals to his name prior to the club’s midweek Premier League clash against Southampton, whilst also managing to earn himself an overall season rating of 7/10 for his performances throughout the campaign, it would be easy to assume that Leeds would want to keep hold of Bamford for as long as they can and probably wouldn’t consider the idea of letting him leave for another Premier League club this summer.
