Leeds United fans on Twitter have been responding to a recently posted footage of Whites’ goalkeeper Illan Meslier during the club’s recent 3-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
This comes after the official Leeds Twitter account shared a post on their page that contained footage of Meslier saving a shot from Spurs right-back Serge Aurier during the match at Elland Road to deny the north London club a goal.
The Leeds Twitter account called this save from Meslier a ‘crucial’ one in the caption to their post.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Leeds fans who were quick to share their thoughts on this save from the Frenchman.
So, what did these Leeds fans have to say in response to this footage of Meslier during the Spurs game?
“Brilliant keeper, get him on a very long contract.”
“And to think we only paid £5m for him, absolute steal”
“He’s absolutely ridiculous”
“Genuinely reckon he’s top 3 keepers in the prem”
“Scary how good this kid is.”
Leeds originally signed Meslier back in August 2019 on a loan deal from French club FC Lorient before signing him on a permanent deal in the previous summer transfer window for a fee of £5.85 million (as per Transfermarkt).
Did Meslier have his best game for Leeds against Spurs?
Looking at the Spurs game, in particular, the fact that Leeds Live gave the shot-stopper a match rating of 8/10 and called his save against Aurier ‘spectacular,’ this shows just how crucial and impressive he was in this latest match.
