Jon Newsome has exclusively told This is Futbol that Julian Draxler’s wages could cause uncertainty in the dressing room should Leeds sign.

The £126,000-per-week PSG star earns considerably more than anyone in the Leeds squad, but Marcelo Bielsa could nab the talented midfielder for nothing, with his contract in the French capital expiring this summer.

Draxler has struggled to nail down a regular place in the side following his move from Wolfsburg and has often been touted with a move away from the Ligue 1 side.

Reports have suggested that PSG could still offer the German a three-year contract at the Parc des Princes, although Leeds have been previously keen on making a stunning move to bring the World Cup winner to Elland Road.

Leeds' all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Mark Viduka but how many did he score?

But whilst the former Whites defender recognises Draxler’s quality, he remains cautious about Leeds revisiting their interest despite the prospect of signing the 27-year-old on a free transfer.

He told This is Futbol:

“Yes, you’d love somebody of the quality of Julian Draxler, but are you going to suddenly smash the wage structure of the club?

“All the lads will have a little bit of a chat because he’s on X, Y, Z and he’s on X, Y, Z times 10. You’ve got all of those things to think about, not just about what he’s going to come and do on the football pitch.”
