Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, former Leeds United midfielder Carlton Palmer believes Marcelo Bielsa has what it takes to manage one of the top clubs in the country.

Tottenham are currently on the lookout for a new manager after sacking Jose Mourinho, and one of their former bosses Tim Sherwood recently stated on Sky Sports (via Yorkshire Evening Post) that he wanted to see Bielsa in north London, claiming that he was an “outstanding manager”.

For Palmer, the Leeds boss would not look out of place managing a side like Spurs.

Will Bamford be at Leeds next season?

He's going nonwhere!

He's going nonwhere!

He's leaving!

He's leaving!

When asked by TIF if he agreed with Sherwood and whether Bielsa has proven that he is good enough to take over at Tottenham or a similar club, the retired England international said:

“Without a shadow of a doubt. Bielsa came with a high pedigree. Let’s not kid ourselves about this, he is a top, top manager.

“He’s got Leeds promoted, they’re going to finish halfway in the table, they’ve acquitted themselves very, very well, so of course Bielsa’s going to be coveted and quite rightly so.”

With his current deal at Leeds close to expiring, Bielsa’s future is up in the air. If he does fancy trying something new, then perhaps Tottenham could be an option.
