A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts at Jose Mourinho’s comments about their young defender, Japhet Tanganga.
The 22-year-old defender started in their last Premier League game against Aston Villa and earned the praise of his manager with Spurs running out 2-0 victors.
Mourinho discussed the 22-year-old’s progression at Spurs and insisted his best position is at right-back despite playing at centre-back previously.
Tanganga has only made three appearances in the Premier League this season for Spurs having missed a lot of the beginning of the season as a result of an injury issue.
Spurs have nine games remaining in the 2020/21 Premier League campaign and it is clear their fans would like to see Tanganga involved in the starting XI for their run-in – although there still seems to be debate about his best position.
“still don’t understand this. He’s reminds me alot of Ledley.”
“We need him to play most games, one of our, if not our best, defender”
“Just needs to improve going forward and we’ll be set”
Should Tanganga be playing more?
All in all, Mourinho has had his problems with his defence this season, however, it is apparent the Spurs fans feel Tanganga is the solution to those problems going forward and want to see more of him in the final nine games of the season.
