Colin Watt has been speaking on the latest edition of A Celtic State of Mind podcast to discuss all things related to the Parkhead side.
One major talking point has been Celtic’s search for a new permanent manager after the club parted ways with Neil Lennon back in February.
John Kennedy was appointed as interim manager following Lennon’s departure and there have been some reports suggesting the 37-year-old could take charge on a permanent basis.

However, speaking on the podcast, Watt admitted that is something which he could not see happening when questioned about it by host Paul John Dykes.
He said: “Personally, I don’t think so. But I mean, he’s got every right to think he is, because he’s the person that’s in caretaker position at the minute. He’s kind of trying to guide the team through as best as he possibly can. And all he has to do is take a look at what happened to Neil Lennon when he was in caretaker charge – he was given the job.
“So Kennedy’s got every right to think that he’s in with it, it’s probably what he wants to do. He wants to move into management. It’s his ‘audition’ as such, as much as us as Celtic fans and everybody will say, ‘no, they don’t want him as Celtic manager.’
“But he’s got that position to kind of prove that it’s his and his to keep. It’s up to him how he plays it.”

Since Kennedy was appointed as the interim manager, Celtic have not lost in the league, including a draw in the Old Firm and an emphatic 6-0 victory on Saturday against Livingston. Yet Watt still does not feel that Kennedy will be in the running for the full-time job.
Although there does not seem to be a breakthrough in Celtic’s search for a new manager, reports would suggest Eddie Howe is the front runner to get the job as it stands. However, some other reports have suggested Howe is also being considered by Crystal Palace with Roy Hodgson’s contract set to expire this summer with the Eagles.
Celtic have shown some movement in bringing forward Dominic McKay’s appointment as chief executive which may provide the Hoops fans with some hope the club is beginning to ramp up their efforts to find their next manager.
